My mom had been talking for a while about wanting to get family pictures taken, so when she said that she would pic up Tam and I at 4:30pm on Friday I didn't think anything of it.
About a month earlier we had gone shopping for the perfect outfit (for all of us). I loved the dress that I choose and actually told Mom and Tam that I would like to get proposed to in that dress. (little did I know that I would be)
Anways Tam and I got ready that day, but she left about 3:30pm to "meet a friend real quick". I couldn't find this necklace that I really wanted to wear and she wasn't back yet, so I kept calling her and she wouldn't answer. While I was getting frusterated at her for not picking up her phone, I heard a knock at the door...it was Bryan in a tux with a dozen roses!! I knew right away what was going to happen, but I still said (out of nervousness), "What are you doing here?" He just laughed!
I got my coat and we left. We walked down the stairs and I thought we would walk to my car or his truck, but instead we walked up to this Infinity G35!
It was awesome!! The car was so nice and went from 0-60 in like a second. I had no idea where we were going for dinner, but I just went along for the ride, because he doesn't like it when I ask where we are going. :) We ended up in Bellevue at Daniel's Broiler, which is such a nice restaurant. The hostest that sat us asked if it was a special occasion and we said yes and she just stood there wanting us to say more, but then she got the hint and walked away. (Like Bryan was actually going to say that he was going to propose later that night.) But we got to sit by a window that overlooked the Seattle skyline. It was a clear, beautiful night! The dinner was awesome!!
Then we left there and got back in the nice car. We drove on I-90, which I had an idea that we might be headed to Snoqualmie Falls. For those of you that don't know, Snoqualmie Falls is the place where he took me on our first date, it was the place we first said we liked each other, the place where we first said I Love You, our first kiss happened there, all-in-all it is a special place for us both!!
Before we got to the falls he took me to the big tree stump, where we carved our intials in on our first date. He showed me this huge, deep plus sign and he told me that he came back and dug that into the tree and that it was us, so we could always come back and find us on this tree trunk. He is such a thoughtful sweet guy! I'm so blessed!
Anyways then we headed to the falls and we got out of the car and walked to the lookout point, but it was so dark, foggy, and misty that we couldn't see the falls at all. We then went inside the Salish Lodge and he said "go with me on this one" as we walked up to the check in desk. The guy at the desk said, "oh it looks like you're already checked in." That pretty much gave it away that either he or someone had already been there. We walked down to room 215 and when I entered there was white lights, candles, rose petals, a cake, sparkling cider and a whole bunch of other stuff too.
We first walked out side, because we could see the falls from the balcony in the room. It was beautiful!! Then we went inside and he proposed in front of the fireplace! I was crying the whole time, because it was the first time he ever called me his best friend and he told me that he promised to love and cherish me for the rest of our lives!! It was the most perfect proposal ever! I could have ended there, but there was more...
Then he took me over to the computer and had me read a letter that he wrote me. I was crying even more. Then he took me through past important dates that he had bought the ring, picked it up, etc. Then he showed me a box that had cards in it (pictured in Engagement Gallery). He had gotten family and close friends to sign cards congratualting me on the engagement! It was so thoughtful! I really have the best guy ever! Then I called my mom and sister and his mom, because they were the ones that had decorated the room for us so beautifully to come to the room. We took a lot of pictures and then Bryan and his mom left and Tam and Mom stayed in the room with me that night, so we could do some planning.
The next morning he showed up at the door with coffee for all of us and breakfast!
Everything was so perfect! I couldn't have asked for anything better! Bryan is the love of my life and I can't wait to marry my Best Friend!!
